Originally settled in 1865, Browerville has a varied and interesting history.  Not many communities can lay claim to having been started twice in two different locations.  The community that would eventually bear the name of Browerville was originally settled by John Bassett in 1865 at a location, on the Long Prairie River, approximately 3 miles north of the existing community.
